風の展望公園
岡山県北部に位置する大佐町は、風をテーマに町おこしをしている。
町のシンボルである大佐山を背景に、大日高原と呼ばれる一体をアウトドアスポーツを主体とした、総合レジャースペースとして整備。その一画に体育館と温水プールを建設するため、山の一部を切り崩した。
岩のランダムに混じる地質に植栽が難しいことから、切り崩された山頂部分を造成し、公園を設けることになった。当初、耐久性の配慮から石による造形を提案したが、立地条件上、重量物搬入に制限があり、地元で産出する杉を材料に用いデザイン。関西圏でも有数のパラグライダーサイトとして有名な当地の性格を考慮し、上空からの景観も頭に置いた。
赤い半球は熱の上昇「サーマル」を、緑の柱は「木」をイメージ。
白い塔の上の赤い羽根は、風を受け風見のように反応する。
風車は3種類の方向性で動きます。
風をうけて全体が回るのではなく風の方向性によって翼が反応する仕掛け。

Oosa Town – Wind View Park

To revitalizing itself, Oosa town, situated on the north part of Okayama, organizes divers events under the theme of wind.
Having on its back the Mount Oosa- the symbol of the town-, the Dainichi hill area was arranged into as an all-around leisure space where people can play divers out-door sports. A part of the mountain was leveled to construct a gymnastic and a heated swimming pool.
As it’s difficult to plant in the soil where are irregularly scattered rocks, the town decided to make a park in a part of the leveled area.
At the beginning, we proposed a work of stone considering the endurance. But because of few limits toward the things that can be carried in to the site, we finally proposed the design using cedar, locally lumbered in the town. As the town is known as one of good sites in the west Japan for paragliding, we also cared about the view from the sky.
The red sphere evokes the thermal -an ascending current of heat-, and so the green colons the trees.
The forms of feathers in red color on the white dome react and move receiving the wind like a weathervane. This windmill has three parts to catch the wind that means: not only the whole body of the windmill moves according to the wind but also each wings respond to it.
